By having a diverse grade appropriate class library, I will be able to provide my students with a variety of reading options for their reading pleasure. Most, if not all, of my students are from economically disadvantaged families that struggle just to put food on the table and pay their monthly bills. Reading for pleasure is just not something that is in the family budget, however it is something my students truly love to do.
My students view books as a place to go when they have to stay where they are. Reading for pleasure will advance their education tremendously. Not only will my students expand their knowledge and love for learning, but they will also expand their vocabulary and critical thinking skills.
