My major goal in setting up my account was to get a chance to add some awesome science materials. I鈥檝e selected a variety of hands on science materials that all of my students can enjoy regardless of their age or academic level.
Reading can be a struggle for many of my students, that is why I chose materials that are hands on verses paper and pencil or a guided reading book. I am hoping that these reading materials encourage my struggling students to become more excited to read.
I want to offer my kiddos alternative seating, so that is why I have included balance balls. I have some students in my class who struggle with sitting in a chair for more than a few minutes, that鈥檚 why I feel this will be a great alternative for them.
I also added items that will help them reach certain independent living goals. We will be doing a lot of cooking using basic skills that will help them as they become adults and give them a chance to be independent.
Finally, my students get 鈥渂reak time鈥 on iPads throughout the day. I only have a couple of pairs of headphones that work right now. It would be great to have enough for each of my students to use to listen to music, play educational games, or watch educational videos.
I am a first year teacher, so I don鈥檛 have a lot for my students yet. I really want to make this year an amazing experience for them, that is what these items can help me achieve.
