I would like for my students to learn the importance and richness of HBCUs. HBCUs are a huge part of the African American school culture. Students will engage in a day full of learning about the history of HBCUs, why they exist, and learn about the 104 HBCUs in the United States.
I would love for my students to learn early on the importance of HBCUs. I am the author of a children's book titled Brown Hands, Black Schools HBCUs. The goal of this book is to teach children about HBCUs at an early age. The items that I am requesting will allow students to have a hands on approach and inspire their curiosity about higher education.
