I work as a third grade teacher in a Title I school, with students who have limited access to internet/computer usage at home. In my classroom, I work with students that come from different socioeconomic backgrounds. They range from age 7 to 9, and have varying abilities in Mathematics and ELA. Some of my students are scoring at a first grade level, whereas there are others that are excelling at a grade 3 level. This wide range of abilities would benefit greatly from the iReady program used by our district; if all students are able to get on the necessary amount of time to complete the lessons.
My students use the iReady program daily; which is a great resource used for supplemental learning. This program allows students to receive individualized lessons that help fill the gaps of necessary building blocks essential to their individual learning needs.
For students to reach their full potential within the program; iReady recommends each student completes 45 minutes of both ELA and Math weekly. There are only 4 computers in my classroom(and 1 is currently not working), causing students to be unable to meet that required time. New iPads would allow more students the time they need to use this important program.
