My project that I have created mainly focuses on creating a strong shared reading unit for my students. Within my project, you will see fiction and non-fiction books. To put these units together, I also included some generic materials that will be needed like lamination sheets and Velcro.
All students deserve to be contributors!
In my project, I included a cookie jar which I will use to put visuals of characters and other pieces from the book to have students pull out and identify. This provides hands-on engagement with my students.
I also realize the importance of breaks. Within my project, I included some hands-on break time options like magna tiles and wooden puzzles.
With these shared reading units I plan to create for my students, I will also be creating writing pieces to go along with them. Most of these writings are craft based. Students will create a craft on the topic of our unit and then write a sentence or two on what they have created.
I want to encourage my students in a wide variety and plan to teach multiple themes this upcoming year. Exposing them to as many things as I can within the classroom so one day they are ready for the real world.
