I encourage a lot of movement in my math classroom because nobody likes to sit still. My classroom is full of energetic fourth graders all day long. I would love the opportunity to create a learning space that is student-centered. My students would be offered a wide range of seating options that allows them to choose to work at different heights and in different positions.
Classroom environments are extremely important for students and teachers! Flexible seating can be rewarding as it reduces the duration of sedentary periods of time. It encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused, and productive. The comfy floor seats, wobble cushions, and balance ball seats will benefit all of my students by keeping their minds and bodies more alert and focused.
