It is important to provide my students with a learning environment that will support their needs. I want to keep them engaged and motivated during their time in school. Providing them with alternative seating options will allow them to do so. Students learn differently and their environment plays a vital role in their learning. My purpose for the flexible seating is to provide my students with a comfortable atmosphere conducive to learning.
As a first-year teacher, I want my students to have access to fun and educational tools that will help support their learning. For this year, I am focusing on reading and mathematics. The majority of my students are unable to read. I want to provide my students with reading tools that will permit them to create words and ultimately develop a final product, sentences. My students are beginning to learn the basic mathematical concepts of counting, adding, and subtracting. It is crucial to integrate in a mathematical lesson tools that will help them develop and further expand those basic skills. Students are able to retain new acquired knowledge through the use of manipulatives. The requested resources will help my kinder students use hands-on tools to develop and master those reading and mathematical concepts.
