In my math class we try to use real-world data in our examples, problems, and tasks. A lot of the numbers that we deal with can be large and in my class it is important that my students know how to use math concepts as tools and not be held back just because they can't calculate values quickly.
Calculators can be powerful tools to help students with precision as they master concepts In my higher level math classes it becomes a very valuable tool that allows my students to focus on making sense of their answers and not just the steps on how to calculate the answer.
With these tools I hope to allow all my students see that they can see the world through a math lens and that they tool have the tools and skills to solve real world problems
