All of my amazing students struggle with self-control and fighting the urge to focus on anything other than their learning. All of these sensory items will be used so students can have extra stimulation to combat the impulse to fidget and distract themselves and others.
Students will be able to discreetly use these items in their hands on their lap or in their desk so they can learn to take control of their ability to focus. Many of my students feel like it is out of their control and that they cannot help but be "bad learners" and these items will help them to realize that they just learn differently. The goal with these sensory items is to change how the students deal with their needs and hopefully change their thinking about themselves to be more positive.
