My project for my classroom is to help teach basic language and life skills to my students who are nonverbal with autism and those who do not have special needs but do not yet speak or understand English.
There are a lot of needs and very little funding for the resources the students need. These products will be the foundation for teaching my students skills needed to be successful for every grade level in school. I am the first step in the process for my students.
The dry erase board will be used to teach basic skills we are required to assess the students on. These include identifying shapes, counting, basic self care and communication skills. The books and picture cards will be used for everyday language introduction for my students with Autism, speech delays, developmental delays and those who do not yet know English. The seat cushions are for students to be able to give structure to where and how to sit during the engaging lessons I teach.
