My students will have access to a wider variety of books during our Guided Reading Block and Daily Five. They will read at their own level from our classroom library. I hand picked these picked these books to target their learning levels. In first grade, a child's reading material should feature a high proportion of new words that use the letter-sound relationship that they have learned. These books will enrich the student's learning experiences and empower them to become better readers. Reading is vital to first grade academic success. I am looking forward to providing my students with a classroom library that they will enjoy and will challenge them to become better readers.
