My low socio- economic and special education students need the ability to charge their iPads in class. Sometimes students forget to "charge it" and often times, students do not have the capability to charge their iPads. Upon entering the classroom, if we have a docking/charging station in class, students will be able to immediately charge their iPads.
Our middle school is a 1 to 1 ratio for iPads but in order to use them effectively, they must be charged. Students sometimes lose their charger and do not have the means to replace it - we "need help to help them" use their technology effectively in the real world.
