The materials selected will help make a difference in the variety of manipulatives offered to my students in the classroom. These items will allow for my class to practice domestic maintenance skills with "real-life" situations such as cleaning supplies, play food, cash register and shopping cart.
My students learn best with hands-on, appropriate materials that provide real-life situations with exposure to social play and skills related to their IEP goals. Children with multiple disabilities benefit from guided, visual instruction and explanations. With the appropriate materials, a lesson filled with stimulating, engaging, tangible items will increase attention and make learning and social play highly enjoyable for my students.
