Students will use the STEM tools to discover how using one's knowledge through trial and error can result in making objects into items such as robots, cars, waterways, and bridges. Students will use the STEM tools as a part our curriculum, after assignments are completed, and during free time.
My goal is to expose students to real-life scenarios in which they can apply and develop skills to use for themselves and the community. For example, we will build waterways with the tubes to see how rivers and runoff flow. We will use magnetic tiles and construction pieces to see how homes and bridges can be built safely with useful layouts. We will also use items like the root and decomposition windows to view how plants grow below ground level and the speed to which trash does or does not break down in landfills. I have big dreams for my students to learn while using as many of their 5 senses and learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) as possible.
