Keep female students playing sports! I am a firm believer that sports give our students a tool to help with their mental well being. Often sports such as football, baseball, and basketball take priority in funding sports. This can limit the participation of female students in sports. In addition, female sports can typically bring in less fan support which can leave their teams struggling to stay afloat financially. Unfortunately because of lower budgets, families of female players often are burdened with the responsibility to purchase expensive gear.
I want to make sure that the female sports programs at my school can provide participants with basic needs they will have to be able to participate. Providing girls with personal items needed for participation will help limit the financial burden their families will face to allow their daughters to play sports.
