My students benefit greatly from circle time activities and game time, where we utilize their gross motor skills. This is the one place that we are lacking. Much of our equipment is old and outdated and in need of replacing. Because we charge a minimal fee for enrollment, our money that is collected needs to first be used for the field trips, art and crafts supplies, snacks, etc. Often times there is not enough left over for larger items.
For young children, playtime and reading circle are essential to their overall learning process. By obtaining new play equipment and a new reading rug, we could allow the students a much better experience. Students will be able to enhance their play experience by utilizing new equipment and the high school students will be able to observe the children in many different aspects of play and assist in reading.
