In order to be successful in a science classroom, the students require directions to follow, readings to mull over and questions to respond to. I wish I could hear all of their ideas verbally, but with 30 students in a classroom, they must put pen to paper to show their understanding of a particularly hands-on experiment.
Every student in my classroom deserves the opportunity to explore new scientific concepts and activities. The only way to provide that to the students is through handouts that correspond with activity. My students love to be challenged with new experiences and they surprise me every day with the thoughtful curiosity.
With a printer in the classroom, I have the ability to be inspired by the students and create engaging activities at the press of a button. When my students ask me about current events, I can print them an article to keep them informed, as some do not have access to computers at home. A printer in the classroom means the students can take home their knowledge and have access to extra information and materials. My students will only benefit from having greater access to the information around them and the ability to enrich their lives.
