I would love for my students to experience the world, first hand, through having their own personal devices. Their world would completely change, as they would be able to access translation websites, discover the unknown world through the internet, and to learn/understand how technology is critical for success and growth in our world.
My English learners are coming from extremely impoverished backgrounds, and are entering the US with extreme language barriers. The devices will allow my students to instantly understand English through translations tools online. This access will allow these young adults to connect with others and communicate their needs, which is imperative. Computer experience and training is mandatory for success worldwide. These devices will absolutely allow my students to become an integral and successful part of our Baltimore City community and will assist them in developing college and career-ready skills.
