Books are the doors of the world, before I could envision myself traveling the world, I read about it. When I didn't know how to imagine or dream, books thought me the endless possibilities of "what if".
There's no library I've ever stepped that made me aware of the fact I was receiving free help from my community, each library always had seating that made opening a new book to when I sat down almost instinctive. I want the classroom library to make reading instinctive for my students. For them to feel the softness of the seats, the diversity of the books, and desire to meet their literacy goals of learning more words and techniques to comprehend what exactly each book is saying.
My hope is this physical space will inspire an instinctive desire they may have lost to read and seek knowledge.
