I am the Mental Health Therapist at a Title I school located in East Palo Alto, California. One of our goals as a school is to serve the whole child. This means in addition to providing comprehensive academic education, we also prioritize students' social and emotional learning and well-being.
I work to promote students’ self-awareness and self-regulation as well as social awareness and social skills.
For many of our students, school is one of the very few places offering emotional and mental health resources and supports.
Our students are scholars striving to become the best versions of themselves, and they deserve all the resources and supports that are readily available to students in higher-income communities.
