Due to the economic area that I teach in a big part of my job is to show my students that I'm not leaving them & I support them. I try to make my classroom into a comfortable home-like setting where my students feel they belong. If they don't trust me I can't teach them. I want them to know that I'm proud of them & know their self worth even if they don't. By caring for my students they are able to let their guards down and feel comfortable coming to school and hopefully learning. Seeing themselves in pictures being successful ( which looks different to each student) will help them soar!
