This year, my students are more excited than ever about practicing their learning at home. They are taking packets of homework each week that they do with their parent's help. Having extra paper will help us continue to print the homework packets. The students are excited because those who complete their homework get to attend a "homework party" at the end of each week. Learning games are a big part of the party. Also, prizes/rewards are given for students who put forth extra effort.
Using the Rekenrek Frames will help my students understand addition and subtraction better. We use dice as we practice addition, subtraction, odd and even, and place value. The students enjoy having many different ways to practice each concept. My second graders are excited about learning math!!
