I want to provide a space where my students can go to move around and refocus. It is hard to expect 5 and 6 year-olds to sit in a classroom for 7 hours everyday. They need an area where they can go to recharge. That is why I want to provide a sensory area in my classroom. These items will help students stay focused.
I have several different learning styles in my classroom.
I want to make sure I am accommodating every single one of them.
I am asking for my area to have flexible seating. This is so students can sit in different types of chairs and tables to help them focus on the task at hand. I also want to provide quiet object students can manipulate while sitting on a carpet. The items I found will help to not cause distractions to the whole class while teaching is happening. These items will keep their hands busy while letting them listen to instructions.
My goal is to help my students succeed. I think this sensory area is going to help me accomplish that goal.
