Students in grades first through sixth are participating in a school wide Battle of the Books where students are reading select lists of books and competing in answering questions about them. This Battle is district wide for grades 3-6. This project is intended to help students get reading different types of genres and increase the amount of time they read daily. Our school has a reading committee of teachers and parents that are working to increase and motivate the literacy of our students. This committee is promoting that students read titles from these battle lists. Rewarding students with small prizes for their reading accomplishments will assist us in reaching this goal.
