I am trying to incorporate centers and the use of hands on learning opportunities to make learning more fun and exciting for a group of special needs learners in grades 1st-3rd. These students are challenged in the areas of reading, mathematics, writing, and social skills. The students have difficulty staying focused on classroom tasks and need to be motivated with learning opportunities that are both engaging and and goal oriented. These children have fine and gross motor delays that also interferes with their learning as well. There may even be some with visual or auditory processing delays. Any activity that incorporates the use of their sensory functioning will help them towards achieving progress on their IEP academic goals!
