So far, we’ve been moving desks to create a group during the ELA block. Other times, the kids sit on the tile floor, with no complaints. With the number of students we have, trying to maximize the space is important to me. I would love if they can use the last corner of the room to work together and feel comfortable at the same time. Instead of having to move desks each day, that space will be dedicated to collaborative learning, from writing to reading and any other activities that involve group work. Having a rug provides comfort because of the cold floors and the portable desks are small and perfect for the space. Watching how they thrive and get excited to work in groups, I would love for the kids to have a space of learning with comfort.
