This year I will be responsible for teaching writing to all of the fourth graders at my school. After spending the first week with my students I can see that they love being at school, but that they are hesitant to make mistakes or be "wrong". With the tools in this project I will be creating a safe environment for my students to experiment and take chances with their writing.
This project will allow my students to reflect back on their growth as writers. By having one place for all of their writing (brainstorming, drafting, revisions) they will be able to look back and see how much they've grown as writers. This reflection process will inspire them to continue to give their best effort and focus on goals. Ultimately I want my students to produce pieces of writing that they are proud of and for these skills to carry over into their futures.
