In lower elementary, students can be better engaged when their close to the materials that are being taught. I will use this rug on a daily bases to teach group math while using individual whiteboards to collect information on what's sticking and what's not. I will also be using it during our storytime and reading time. Having proximity will allow me to catch math and reading misconceptions in real-time.
Students will benefit from participating in turn & talks, flexible seating and give students a comfortable place to expand their learning. Students will be grateful for the opportunity to get out of their hard wooden seats and into an area that allows wiggles and learning.
