The LEGO® Education BricQ Motion Prime Set will give students the opportunity to engage in challenging, hands-on learning experiences that they did not receive during distance learning.
Students will participate in meaningful discourse with their peers as they work together to collect and analyze data as well as apply and synthesize what they have learned. (SL.5.1, Sl.5.3, Sl.5.6). These higher order thinking skills will translate across all content areas as students develop their problem solving and critical thinking skills. These skills directly relate to the College and Career Readiness Standards which are essential for students entering the 21st century workforce (CCRS Reading K-5.1, CCRS Reading K-5.7, CCRS Reading K-5.10, CCRS Writing K-5.2, CCRS Writing K-5.7, CCRS Writing K-5.9, CCRS Speaking/Listening K-5.1, CCRS Speaking/Listening K-5.3, CCRS Speaking/Listening K-5.4).
In addition, students will develop their informative writing skills and improve their functional reading skills as they read manuals on how to build the different robots and follow multi-step directions (RI.5.7, RI.5.10, W.5.2, W.5.4, W.5.10).
