The STEAM class was implemented this year. It is not a STAAR tested subject, so technology that was previously used in a core subject can not be used for STEAM. We have no funding to provide the technology to teach coding or online research. These chromebooks will allow our students the ability to practice coding, researching how, why and what, and becoming comfortable with a computer in a setting other than game playing. Every classroom is being used by a teacher. This includes computer labs. These computers will allow our students the ability to utilize technology without having to borrow the teachers computer, or use their cellphone.
