At Nell Dawson Elementary, we aim to bring back the importance that science holds into our classrooms. We have created science units using the current Next Generation Science Standards to provide our students with rich hands-on learning opportunities that apply to the real-world. Our science units are fully integrated throughout our curriculum and are continually visited every day of the week. During each unit, students spend 5-6 weeks investigating scientific phenomena with hands-on experiences, extensive research, STEM activities/projects, as well as an Art integration component.
Providing my class with STEM materials and activities will encourage a deeper passion for science, an intrigue for solving real-world problems, and a better understanding of scientific phenomena such as forces and magnetism.
My students and I are so excited to experience science phenomena right before our eyes! We cannot wait to grow our brains with hands-on learning and experience the magic of magnetism and forces right in our classroom!
