With over half of my students learning English as a new language, providing them with iPads will help them visualize and listen to the text with a hands-on experience. While they are enthusiastic and eager learners, many of them struggle with reading a decoding. With an iPad, students will be able to become more engaged in text and words, and will be able to practice decoding skills in a much more innovative way.
By donating to this project, not only will the students become stronger readers, they will be more motivated and confident to read independently. Students will be able to use these iPads when working in small groups to practice their reading. Throughout the day, my students can work independently to get the extra reading and math practice they need while I work with small groups. They can reinforce reading skills learned by playing fun and interactive reading games. They can also use the iPads to read and listen to educational books online.
