Most of my students are three or more years behind their peers in both reading and math. I am an inclusion teacher and I have the privilege to work with struggling students that lack confidence in themselves and their abilities in the classroom.
I love being able to teach these students on their ability level and bridge the gap between their performance and their actual grade level. There are many avenues I use to try to grow my students, but one of the most beneficial is the online program called I-Ready. This program tests the students in both English and math to ensure they are on the correct program for each student. It tailors the program to every individual student! It’s fantastic. The only problem is that our school is low-income and I do not have Chromebooks in my classroom. My students would benefit so much from a class set of the technology to allow them to work on their deficits. It is my greatest desire to give these students the absolute best chance I can for a great future. I believe giving them the chance to use this phenomenal program will greatly improve their weaknesses and enhance their strengths.
