Rugs, something so simple yet so crucial in a kindergarten classroom. The class revolves around the rug. It gives students their own personal area and a meeting place to come together as one. When on or at the rug students feel united and comfortable. This is their home within a school building, as most of my students come from low income homes they are more than deserving of better than the best. As their teacher I have a huge desire to provide them with a clean and meaningful place to sit and be theirs for the year. As we are currently using a rug that was flooded in the room during a storm. My hope is to replace this rug with a new and clean one, a fresh start for my students to build their hopes and dreams on.
