My students love to learn and explore using their hands. These manipulatives will help me differentiate my instruction. This year and years to come, these manipulatives will help me teach with the hands on method.
This year we are focusing mainly on 3 digit addition and subtraction using regrouping. The base ten blocks help us accomplish this skill, by showing students that regrouping is bundling 10's together to make another group. We are also focusing on multiplication and division this year. The chips will help my students be able to show how to multiply and divide by sorting chips into equal sized groups and array models.
There are many more uses for these tools in my classroom and I can not wait to start using them with my students!
