COVID-19 had a significant impact on the literacy of students. Additionally, many students do not have access to books at home, so when schools are online, those students are not reading. Reading is a critical component of developing literacy in our students, and students need access to books even when schools are not learning in person. This project will help me provide personal reading books to students that they can take home and read as well. Many students do not have access to books at home or through public libraries; additionally, I can help students select books that are appropriate for their reading levels. My classroom library is a great resource to help students sharpen their literacy skills, and this project will help add books to that resource.
