The students in my class see school as a safe place. Most of them come from homes that are not the best environment. That is why I try to read each student and make sure that they understand their potential and they create goals for themselves! Often times, they get discouraged if they dont have school supplies like the others in their class.
As a first year teacher, I don't have many supplies that I can offer the students to help them learn. That is why I am asking for pencils, sticky notes, scissors, glue sticks, laminating sheets, disinfecting wipes! The supplies I am asking for will help with classroom management also, because the students will not have to go searching for supplies/ask others. We do a lot of activities that include cutting, gluing, and coloring, so these supplies will be greatly appreciated!
My class struggles with finding joy in reading. I believe having some new books for them to read will spark some enjoyment and they will become better readers!
