With the use of technology in the classroom there is an abundance of learning in which students can engage in. Technology is so important in this fast pace society and it is vital to have students who are in the know and fluent in their technological abilities. Students at this age learn through hands on strategies and iPads are easy for them to manipulate because of their ability to touch the screen. iPads also have the ability to tailor the learning experiences of each of my individual student. These iPads would be so useful in my Kindergarten classroom.
The use of technology will help my students with disabilities express themselves. Some of my students have motor skill limitations that make it difficult to use a mouse and keyboard. Using the tablets, my students with disabilities will be able to use the touchscreen in place of a mouse while working on their computer interventions. The use of technology will narrow the gap between students who have access to technology at home and those who don’t. Most of my students do not have access to technology at home. The impact of this technology will ensure every student has an equal opportunity at a great education.
