Our 6th grade students will be exploring narrative writing through a project based unit that incorporates the fine arts. They will be bringing to life their 2nd grade buddy's imaginary monster character through felt and sewing. They will also be writing a fictional story, using the ideas and imagination of their 2nd grade buddy.
This project integrates the arts, communication, hands-on learning, and English Language Arts. It serves to encourage our 6th graders to empathize and be compassionate when they gift their felt monster character to their little 2nd grade buddy.
We are in need of materials that will help us to bring this project to life - both for our 6th graders and our 2nd graders. This project will bring the spark and excitement to engage in relevant and deeper learning.
