My students will be able to have consistent access to Chromebooks in the classroom. They will be actively engaged during center times with individualized lessons and games online in order to practice and enhance the math skills that they have been taught in the classroom.
Engaging mathematical games can encourage students to explore number combinations, place value, patterns, computational strategies, and other important mathematical concepts. They afford students the opportunities to deepen their mathematical understanding and reasoning.
The use of the Chromebooks during math class will allow me to create repeated opportunities for students to play games, then let the mathematical ideas emerge as students notice new patterns, relationships, and strategies.
During math center times, while the students are on the Chromebooks, it will afford me the time to observe and assess student learning, work with individual students or small groups. I will also be able to track individual student's learning and skill levels which will allow me to tailor classroom lessons and activities in order to meet the individualized needs of my learners.
