The first thing on my list was guided reading books. With these books students who are struggling with reading will now have the chance to read books they will enjoy as well as grow as readers. Also students in the classroom need pencils to complete work as well as highlighters. Third grade is their first year of testing and highlighters play such a key part in testing. My students also need tennis balls to go on the bottom of their chairs as we do not have carpet in our classroom when sliding the chairs without the tennis balls it can become a distraction. Lastly students need snacks, as stated before all of my students are from a low income home and may go a day or two without eating, if a student can enjoy a snack while working. I’m all for it.
