The items I have requested in this project would complete the cozy reading corner in our classroom! My students have been ogling that corner, filled with plush pillows, twinkle lights and fuzzy friends to read with. All our reading nook needs now is the books! I strongly believe that the right book can help change a student from a reluctant reader to an avid book enthusiast! This gift would allow for my readers to immerse themselves in books of their interests, discover the wonder/power of book travel, and develop vocabulary and academic skills all while finding joy in the pages of these books. This gift would be used through guided reading practice and conferencing. In my classroom we teach reading strategies and tricks to help struggling readers become more attentive and intune to the story. These books would be used after the mini lesson during independent practice and teacher check-ins.
