By having these iPads, I will be able to offer non-verbal children on the Autistic Spectrum an opportunity to be heard. The district is considered low income and most families don't have the means to purchase the devices let alone the TouchChat technology app that will be necessary (at the cost of $299.99 a device).
If I am able to receive the iPads, and OtterBox cases, I will be affording these students an opportunity to carry over the skills that they are being exposed to by way of using my own personal device, during direct speech and language therapy, in the classroom.
