The items that I am requesting are items that will enhance my classroom library area. This coming year, I want to make my library a welcoming place for students relax and read. Think about a time where you were lost in a book on the beach, on a couch with a blanket wrapped around you, or on a hammock in the mountains. I want to provide a reading oasis right in my classroom.
Reading is dreaming with your eyes open. In my classroom, I encourage the joy of learning and reading. While working in an urban public school, many of my students come from low income households and have limited access to books at home. School might be the only place where a student reads, so it is important to me that I provide a place where student want be readers, leaders, and dreamers.
