It can be very difficult for parents who do not speak English to feel comfortable and confident in reading and discussing stories with their children in English. While my students are still learning the English language it is very important to develop literacy and comprehension skills that come from discussing plot and themes in their home language. Not to mention the joy of reading with a loved one
These books will give my students the chance to expand their language development and social skills by discussing books in the comfort and security of their own home with family while strengthening their home and school connections.
