The technology I am requesting for my students already has a "home". In other words, I know exactly where the tablets will go in my classroom and how they will be used, we just need your help getting them to our door! The iPads will sit on our Technology Table on the left wall of our classroom, and will be encased in thick, protective cases to ensure a long lasting and happy life in Kindergarten. Students will use the iPads a minimum of twice a day, at literacy centers and again at math centers, for a total of about 20 minutes per day per student.
Using the iPads will help my students with their reading fluency and comprehension skills as they read on academically appropriate websites such as Raz Kids, ABC Mouse, and Starfall. During math centers, students will utilize applications on the iPads such as Booms Cards and Splash Math. These applications have been shown to help sharpen the skills that students learn with me during whole group and small group time, and are age appropriate and entertaining for my Kindergarteners' minds as well.
