Please help us build a community of life long learners who are able to create and engage in their learning! We use scissors in the classroom almost every day.
There is never a day we have enough scissors for one pair per child.
Every Monday we complete an activity that requires the children to cut out a word sort. In turn, the children have to wait until a pair of scissors are available. They can not complete any activities requiring scissors at home because most do not have scissors at home. Without materials like scissors, my students are not able to complete the activities needed to be successful in the classroom or at home. The children in my classroom are eager to learn and participate but feel insecure that they do not have the necessary supplies.
