Hello everyone! I teach 5th Grade in St. Cloud, MN and I am a first-year teacher! If this project is completed, my students will have the resources to learn organization and responsibility. One item I would love to add is a new mailbox system. The current mailbox system in our classroom is not working for my students as it is not efficient, confusing for the students, and it doesn't allow each student to use it at the same time, causing some chaos at the end of the day. My students are very active in the classroom and like to be comfortable while they are learning. One thing that will help them be successful is a class set of clipboards. My students love to work together, bring work to the carpet to see the board better, and they love to choose where they work so that they can be successful. In 5th grade, we do a lot of small group teaching to make sure that every student is getting the best support they need at their level. In order to best meet their needs, I have selected a smaller easel whiteboard that I can use to help guide my students during small group teaching. Another few key items in this project are various STEM building materials. My classroom is full of creators, builders, and artists; these materials will give them their creative outlet to explore, create, and use those creations to discover their biggest passions. I know the items that I have selected for this project will benefit my students, I am excited to get started and see the results!
