By leading this book study, I will become more comfortable as a teacher leader in my building. Also, I hope to build a culture of reading in our building that will support students in their post-secondary educational endeavors. The best way for students to improve their reading and their writing is through reading. Reading is important in every content area. Modeling reading and learning as teachers can help our students become the lifelong learners we want them to be. Since our school is judged on reading and writing scores, improving there through building a strong culture of reading is important.
