We will use the novel Fahrenheit 451 in our classroom to help students recognize the different types of conflict and characterization authors use in classic novels. Each student will need a copy of the novel to read at home.
Students at our type of school don't normally read classic novels. We have a book room full of modern books that are meant to be "relatable" to high school students. Our hope to give our students the reading experience that is not the norm for Title I schools.
Our students deserve to graduate knowing they had the same academic opportunities as students in other high schools.
